Course Description
This course will introduce you to the programming elements of creating and deploying
applications for the iPhone. We will be covering the Objective-C programming language, X
Code, Interface Builder, and the iPhone emulator. This course has been updated to cover topics
new to the 3.0 version of the SDK.

Who this course is for
This course is for developers who have experience programming with Flash and ActionScript.
The examples and analogies used in this class with compare the development environment of the
iPhone SDK with the development environment of Flash and ActionScript. Comparing these
two environments will help experienced Flash developers understand the iPhone SDK in a way
that is already familiar to them.

It will be an introductory level course for the iPhone environment, but it is expected that people
attending this workshop are fully comfortable with programming concepts.

Approach
This course will focus on having the attendees building a single application by building upon
each example shown throughout the 2 days. During this hands on workshop, there will be many
opportunities for the attendees to watch the instructor demonstrate the task, and then follow
along with step-by-step instructions to implement the code on their own. While the project itself
may not be very practical at it's completion (meaning it won't be a money-maker on the store), it
will show the attendees all of the steps they will need to build their own apps.

Course Outcomes
At the end of this intensive 2-day workshop, programmers will be confident in knowing what
steps are required to build and deploy iPhone applications. You will walk away with many
working examples that will help jump-start your own iPhone applications.
